A Blog idea

So a girl friend of mine is 30 years old, single, pretty & overall just a great girl.  I am challenging her to have “50 dates in 50 days” (Which I realize is next to impossible) as a mantra for just putting herself out there & meeting new people.  After hearing about her first 3 dates… whew… (from hilarious to curious to just down right creepy).  I told her she needs to write a blog about these dating mishaps (& adventures) and perhaps get some interesting feedback along the way!  So if you think it would be a blog that you would want to read – will you drop a comment below?  I plan on sharing these comments with her to encourage her to share these events with all of us!

My life in color

I have a tendency to change everything often in my life.  I spent my childhood moving to a new city every 2-4 years (a trend i’ve continued in adulthood) I rarely go to the same dentist, hair sylist, nail salon, restaurant more than twice, and at those fav restaurants I rarely get the same meal twice.  So maybe the fact that I have a new favorite color every couple years makes sense too. (usually the color changed and so did my room/home decor as well.

Yellow (age 6)

• If your favorite color is yellow, this indicates that you have a yearning for the new and the modern? and that you look forward to the future.
• You are inclined to be intellectual, idealistic, spiritual and highly imaginative. Yellow is the color of the curious, creative and artistic individual.

Teal (age 10)

Clerk short changing a blind person… to get other customers reactions

ABC had a great show on the other night – What Would You Do? They wanted to find out how people would respond if they noticed a cashier being extremely rude & shortchanging a blind woman. Would the customers in the store speak up? How long could they stand and watch the injustice?  Well the good news is if you are a blind woman you are more likely to be helped than a blind man (sorry guys).

But the segment really made me think about what I would do in that same situation.  Would I let someone else speak up for the woman?  Or would I jump in and demand that the woman be treated honestly & with respect?  I mean, it seems like an easy answer… right?

Jimmy Carter – Good or Bad?

So I watched The Daily Show today with John Stewart featuring Jimmy Carter (US Prez 1977-81.  I guess he is coming out with a new book & is making his way around town on a press tour.  After the interview I wondered if at the time he was revered as a good president or a bad one.  So I jumped on-line & everything that I read was actually really inspiring.  He has spent the last 30 years since he was president doing an unbelievable amount of humanitarian work & even won the Noble Peace Prize along with a slew of others recognitions.  He believes in engaging those countries who do not share our ideals vs. bombing the shit out of them and asking questions later. (All the while being criticized by the Bush Admin. 

I plan on doing a lot more research on the things that Carter has done for not only the US but also for the world.  My opinion so far was that he was a great president and probably one of the best ex-presidents the US has ever had .

All about me huh? Well how about more about my Blog. I will be turning 30 this year (2009) and I thought that it would be a neat thing to start a blog about everything that has happened over the past 30 years. Not only in my life, but in pop culture (movies, music, etc) and also things that were happening on a global scale. So many records were set in the past 30 years. There have been millions of inventions. The way of life over the past 30 years has changed so dramatically, I can’t even begin to think about what the next 30 will bring.
